TEDx Red Deer: “Pushing Boundaries” in HealthCare

TEDx Red Deer Red Deer, AB, Canada

TEDx Red Deer: "Pushing Boundaries" in HealthCare: As a Physical Therapist over the past 16 years, I am aware of some of the limitations of our current healthcare system. As a result, I've incorporated my skills, training and experience as a Yoga Therapist into my physical therapy practise to offer a more holistic approach to the treatment experience. After sustaining a traumatic injury myself, I had the opportunity to directly experience the missing link in our healthcare system. In my TEDx talk, I will be sharing some of the ways in which yoga can be used to promote healing immediately and safely after an injury that would not have otherwise warranted therapy. I will then guide the audience through a short meditation practise, similar to what I might use with my patients and in my own rehabilitation.
