Join Shelly as she offers “Explore Your Pelvic Floor & More with PhysioYoga” at the Sedona Yoga Festival on Feb.8, 2015 from 10am – 12pm.
Shelly’s Pelvic Health workshop is a dynamic & educational workshop that explores common pelvic health issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain & reproductive organ prolapse & shares how a combination of yoga, pilates & physiotherapy can address these issues & help maintain optimal pelvic health.
Discussions will include how the popular Kegel exercises can potentially exacerbate many incontinence & pelvic pain issues, how the nervous system is involved in pelvic pain & incontinence, & how pelvic health is so much more than just the pelvic floor.
A fun, inspiring & empowering practise, consisting of yoga asana, pranayama (including pelvic diaphragmatic breath), meditation, pilates & physiotherapy based exercises will be included!
Shelly Prosko, Physical Therapist, Yoga Therapist & Pilates Instructor, is a highly respected leader & expert in the area of PhysioYoga Therapy, a combination of Physical Therapy & Yoga Therapy. She received her Physical Therapy degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1998, her Medical Yoga Therapist training through Professional Yoga Therapy Studies in North Carolina & her Pilates Certification through Professional Health & Fitness Institute in Maryland. Shelly’s mission is to educate, inspire & empower people to create health by authentically sharing her skills, knowledge & expertise as she travels across Canada & the U.S. offering specialty PhysioYoga Therapy workshops, presenting at international yoga conferences, lecturing at University programs, instructing at Yoga Teacher Trainings & offering individual private treatments.
Her workshops have been well received across North America by yoga teachers, health care professionals & yoga students of all levels. Shelly has a unique ability of sharing her passion of blending the science of yoga & the art of physical therapy in an engaging, inspiring & valuable way that results in a fun afternoon of learning & yoga practise.
Shelly is also offering a Pre-Conference Workshop on Thursday, Feb.5: 9am – 12pm: “Find Breath. Find Balance. Rediscovering Postural Movement Through Breath”
