Symposium on Yoga Therapy & Research: Newport Beach, CA
2015-Jun-Thu @ 8:00 am - 2015-Jun-Sun @ 5:00 pm
Join Shelly as she presents “Explore Your Pelvic Floor & More: Yoga Therapy for Pelvic Health” at the International Association of Yoga Therapists’ annual Symposium on Yoga Therapy & Research June 5-8th:
Pelvic health issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction are commonly poorly addressed or often left untreated. One third of men & women experience loss of bladder control between the ages of 30-70 and almost 70% do not even seek help perhaps because of the belief that there is no treatment or that it is normal. Your pelvic floor plays an important role not only in bladder function, but also in sexual function, breathing, reproduction, hip and spinal stability and more. This session will outline a variety of factors that influence common pelvic health issues and how we can use yoga therapy safely and effectively using a biopsychosocial approach to address dysfunctions and maintain optimal pelvic health. An inspiring practise consisting of asana, pranayama & meditation is included.
