ONLINE! Pain Care Yoga Part 2

Pain Care Yoga Part 2 (also known as “Overcome Pain Gentle Yoga”) is a 3-day workshop (4.5 hours/day) for healthcare and yoga professionals who are interested in ongoing learning about pain, current pain science, and learning and experiencing how yoga and contemplative practices can help people in pain and be an effective, valuable and evidence-informed part of pain care. 

This is Part 2 of the 3 part Pain Care Yoga Certification Course that is an Approved Professional Development program for continuing education through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).

*Note that Part 1 and 2 can be taken in ANY ORDER!

For Pain Care Yoga (PCY) Part 2, you invite a guest who is an individual living with pain, to join you for the 3 day online learning experience. 

**There is no registration cost for your guest. 

Together, you learn, practice and discuss the components of an effective pain care plan that includes PCY practices and techniques. You help co-create and provide your guest with a written individualized PCY plan, as part of your in-depth practical learning and case study.  The guests along with the professionals learn the most contemporary views from science and yoga related to their importance for decreasing pain, gaining more ease of movement, and living well.

You and your guest also receive an opportunity to watch a pain science education video together, followed by a private discussion between the two of you about the key messages and misconceptions about pain. Opportunities to share any insights with the larger group and/or ask the instructor questions will be readily available.

If you are unable to find an individual to join you as your guest, please let us know in advance and we can help find someone.

You and your guest can attend PCY Part 2 even if you have not yet attended Part 1! You can take Part 1 and Part 2 in any order.

This module can be taken as a stand-alone workshop and/or also be counted towards the full Pain Care Yoga (PCY) certification through PainCareU.com.


For guests/people living in pain:
Immerse yourself in three days of safe effective practices to decrease your pain and help you live well again. Explore modern science-based views on chronic pain, while empowering yourself with practical tools to improve ease of movement. Heal yourself through yoga techniques designed to wind down your nervous system and promote positive, lasting changes in your body. No yoga experience needed. Guests are invited to share information about their pain and responses to the techniques and information at the end of each day.




This course will be hosted ONLINE by Empowered Yoga and instructed by Shelly Prosko, PT, CPI, C-IAYT.
