Join Shelly Prosko, Physical Therapist and Professional Yoga Therapist, as she passionately shares this educational and empowering PhysioYoga workshop discussing the mechanics, physiology, and nuances of breathing and how it can influence many systems of our body, including how we move and how we feel. How we breathe affects our physical health (including posture, spinal health, stability and overall mobility), mental, emotional and energetic health, and can influence our pain. Conversely, our posture, thoughts, mood, pain and other physiological states can influence our breath pattern. We will discuss and explore some of the most common inefficient breathing patterns in our culture (and in the yoga studio!) and how they can lead to states of imbalance and influence our overall function, health and well being.
A fun and inspiring yoga practice combining breathing methods with movements, meditation and yogic philosophy is included to maximize your learning experience.
Come with an open mind and heart to explore the integration of the art and science of respiration and yoga to help guide and sustain you on your journey to optimal breathing and health creation.

Be prepared to learn & experience how our pelvic, respiratory, and vocal diaphragms all work together as a coordinated team to contribute to overall health & wellness using a biopsychosocial model. The 3 diaphragm approach to health optimizes our movement mechanics, breathing, speaking, balance ability, and enhances many of our bodily functions by understanding and using the core strategy system.
